On 30 July 2011, Parnell declared that he had changed over to Islam in January 2011 after a time of individual examination. Parnell affirmed that his colleagues Hashim Amla and Imran Tahir, alongside group supervisor Mohammad Moosajee, had no impact over his choice to change over to Islam. He considered taking the name Waleed, signifying 'Newborn Child', yet keeps on being known as Wayne. 

Mohammad Yousuf

Mohammad Yousuf is a Pakistani religious evangelist and previous cricketer, who played each of the three arrangements and furthermore a previous skipper of Tests and ODIs. A right-gave batsman, Yousuf was one of only a handful couple of Christians to play for the Pakistan national cricket group, preceding his transformation to Islam in 2005. 

Tillakaratne Dilshan

Dilshan changed over from Islam to Buddhism at 16 years old, and was known as Tuwan Mohammad Dilshan before his transformation. His youth mentor Ranjan Paranavitana expressed that despite the fact that Dilshan had a Muslim name, he and his kin pursued their mom's religion amid their adolescence and authoritatively changed his religion and name after his folks isolated.
